PROJECT Municipality Population and Housing Unit Updates Midyear estimates of resident population by municipal boundaries are produced annually. Municipal Resident Population Estimates are used to distribute $23 million in lottery funds annually and billions of dollars a year in state-shared revenue every five years. MAG works in collaboration with the Arizona Department of Commerce to produce these estimates.
