Regional ITS Evaluation Program This program was launched as an activity in the FY 2004 MAG Unified Planning Work Program. The goal of this program is to generate local information to better understand the benefits and the costs of ITS projects and initiatives launched in the region. This program is funded by Federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds. Two projects from the MAG Traffic Signal Optimization Program (TSOP) were selected by the MAG ITS Committee as the first round of evaluation projects. These two evaluations are being carried out through the MAG ITS/TE on-call consultant services contract. The evaluation tasks involve before-and-after field data gathering, statistical analysis and a final report. The two projects being evaluated are: (1) City of Glendale’s Bell Road Signal Coordination Project and (2) ADOT & City of Chandler’s I-10 Corridor Signal Coordination Project. Click here to view a page showing the location and the progress of the project. (Hint: when you move your mouse over the street projects in red or colored city maps, it turns into a hand. Just click it and you can get the report.)
